Am I still here or what?

Well, yes and no. It's been a busy couple of weeks, folks. Out of town two weekends in a row. Fun times were most certainly had, but traveling with the pint-sized wonder is extra exhausting, even with all the extra baby wranglers on hand. And last week marked my return to work, which has, of course, been a bit of a rough adjustment schedule-wise for the whole family. It's all led to a bit of a sewing hiatus (let's hope it's only a hiatus, anyway).

But here's something I stitched up before the whirlwind.

a little dress

It's the Pretty as a Picture Dress from Anna Maria Horner's Handmade Beginnings. It is a bit too big for Adelaide still, so no on-the-baby photos yet. But soonish, I hope! It was a nice, not very difficult little project that used up some leftover fabric. That's the best thing about sewing for a wee one (well, aside from the gosh darn cuteness of teeny tiny things!). Almost every piece of clothing I've made for myself leaves me with enough leftover fabric to also produce an article of clothing for Adelaide. As long as we aren't always wearing matching homemade outfits, this is a good thing. Heck, even if we are always wearing matching homemade outfits I might consider it a good thing...you can't be too sure about such things with me.

Also, I started a post a hundred years ago about Dinner For Schmucks. Have you seen this movie? I can't say I'd recommend it, even with my love for Paul Rudd. Except...the mouse dioramas are spectacular! Seriously cool. You can see a bunch of the dioramas on the movie's official site (here, click on "Meet the Schmucks" and then on "Barry"). And it put me in a diorama kind of mood. I feel like I need to make one (or many) now.
