A few notes from the weekend.

My mom and one of my sisters came up for a lovely visit this weekend.

weekend

I made them some strawberry streusel bars from The America's Test Kitchen Family Baking Book. Yummy!

We made a pilgrimage to Vogue Fabrics in Evanston. Wow, that was a lot of fabric. So much more apparel stuff than JoAnn's. And totally reasonable prices, too. So now I'm all ready for some spring/summer sewing! Yay!

My sister cut my hair. A risky endeavor, but I'm pleased with the results. (Thanks, Rach!) Of course, it'd look better if I bothered to blow-dry it or something. But let's be realistic...that is not going to happen.

It was so nice out! It is definitely, finally, solidly spring now, thank goodness.

Wow that Vogue Fabric place looks GREAT! I have this fabric buying problem. I buy lots of it...LOTS and LOTS, but I don't ever make anything from it. I like to sew but I get bored half-way through a project, hence I'm not all that great at it.

But this place...I could learn to sew more for this place!

The haircut looks great!
Such a smart fabric store to feature photo's of bins with bolts of fabric, I am itching to be there digging through those piles.

Thanks, Annette!

And seriously, you guys, Vogue Fabrics was awesome. I am already thinking about my next trip there...just have to work through the fabric I bought this time first! Of course, dealing with JoAnn's most of the time has left me with very low fabric store expectations. But I think Vogue is definitely worth a trip for anyone in the area.
